Pinterest #27 make your own curiously strong mints

This is an interesting project. Very simple just very time consuming. I think I need to do it again when I have more time. Maybe.
It was nice to make my own flavor and know I am not adding any strange chemicals to them. But the gum paste is hard to work with. Well, just a little. And trying to make them a uniformed size was difficult for me. Mainly because I didn't have the time or patience for them.
These get better as time goes by to make them more like a mint.
For the most part I think it is worth buying them pre made. But if you want to try them by all means this is a great one to try.

Pinterest #26 Ruffle Bottom Onsie

Can you say "so damn cute!"  I just loved these and so easy to make!  Now my little one can run around this summer in a cute one of a kind Onsie.
Pics to follow.

Pinterest #25 galaxy play dough

This one was so quick and easy. And it turned out so beautiful. I found the black food coloring at Walmart in the baking section. I was a little worried that it wasn't big enough because of the instructions and picture in the original post. But it turned out perfect. Only down fall is that the glitter gets everywhere. So if you let the kids play with it be prepared for glitter mess remnants.
The kids love it!  Will be doing it again.

Getting healthy week 18

Weight: down 12 pounds
Exercise : 30 minutes 5 times a week
Calorie count: at least 6 days a week under my allotted calories.

Recently we took a family vacation where all we did was eat out all our meals. I thought for sure I was going to come home and have to start over again. Luckily I only set myself back 3 pounds!  Wow!  I was shocked!  And a little proud that I didn't completely blow it.
I am averaging a little less then 1 pound a week now but at least I can say I am keeping it off.
I made it through Shaun T's Dance Party for the month long fitness plan. I really liked it. I felt like I was getting a great workout and was having fun. But down point was that at least 3 to 4 times a week you were working out for an hour or more. That was hard to find time for. So I am switching back to Jillian Micheals ripped in 30 for the next 4 weeks. I like the fact that hers are 30 minutes. So much easier to find time for. And I feel that I get more toned with her workouts.
Now if I can just stay focused and not let the workout bore me. I am to picky.

Getting healthy...week 13

Weight: still only down 9 pounds. Slow but steady
Exercise: an average of 45 minutes a day 5 times a week. With at least 3 days a week of a 45 minute walk.
Calorie count: under my calorie goal an average of 6 days a week but still have it to high in bad food. Need to be stronger.

Fabulous news! I am 5 inches slimmer in my waist! This is what keeps me going. Down my first dress size!
A little scared though. Vacation is 2 weeks away and with only hovering at 10 pounds down I am afraid I will ruin all my hard work in one week.
I am going to need a lot of will power.

Pinterest #24 bird nest breakfast

These were a hit!!
They are very yummy! A bit time consuming but very good. And on the other plus side you can store them in the fridge for a while or freeze them. Pop them in the microwave for a minute and have a quick to go breakfast.
They are even more yummy with salsa and sour cream on top.
They each have 1 egg in them which is a little much. I need to see if I can cut it in half and that would be perfect.
I can tell they will be a regular in our house.

Pinterest #23 Oven "boiled" eggs

I don't think I will be doing this one again. Not that it didn't turn out. They were just fine. But for the same result I can stick with boiling them for the same time and not use as much energy in doing so. Plus baking them doesn't help with the peeling issues. I think the boiling method with adding baking soda to the water works better.
So go ahead and try it. It works just fine.
