Getting healthy...week 7

Weight loss: 5 pounds total
Exercise: did a total of 5 days and 2 days with a half hour of tread mill time.
Calorie count: I was under every day.

I am discouraged. I am really trying and all I am doing is maintaining. The only positive is that I am down 4 inches in my waist. I am hoping that the scale will start to reflect it too.

Pinterest #11 & #12

Pinterest #11
I am working on making my own mixes. I thought about it and it makes a lot of sense to me to do it. It will be nice to not have the extra additives and chemicals they add to stuff and make things a little more healthy. Here is what I am slowly working towards.

This goes with the last post. The ranch dressing is really good. My only complaint is that it makes to much to go through in a good amount of time and it is very runny. I need to tweak the recipe a little and it will be perfect.

Getting Healthy...Weeks 5 and 6

Week 6
Weight: lost 2 pounds. :(
Excersize: week 5 I did 5 workouts!! Yup I ROCKED that week. Week 6 only 4.
Calorie goal: really did good week 5. Week 6 was going well till the weekend. Then for two days everything went down hill quick.

So week 5 was the bomb!! I got the new video. Got the Juillian Micheals Shred. And I did it five times that week. I had dropped 6 whole pounds!! I felt so good
Week 6 was going well too until Thursday. I took that day off of workout just because. Then Friday woke up with a kinked neck so couldn't workout. Them that night Tom and I got rid of the kids so we went on a date. A wonderful dinner. Then breakfast the next morning. And lunch. And then dinner and drinks on Saturday night. Yup. Can you say double the allotted calories that day!
Then Sunday I was still sore so we decided to finish off the weekend with a bang and blew the diet off again.
So that is why I am only 2 pounds down starting this week.
Yup I can put it on!! Just wish I could take it off!!

Pinterest #10

Pinterest #10 = Long sleeve to bow sleeve t-shirt
As you can tell I used a very ugly shirt for this. Just in case I didn't like it or I made a great mistake. Good thing too because I did make a mistake. I didn't realize that when you cut off the sleeves that you don't do it at the seam. Cut them off just below the seam so you don't get the worlds most revealing tank top. Which is what I ended up with. Needless to say I won't be keeping this one. But all in all I liked how it turned out. I do plan on trying it again. Post is now in "things I tried on Pinterest and liked a lot" board.

My Riley is 1!!!

It's official.  I no longer have a baby in my home.  I have a toddler.  And she is now 1!!!
I have no idea where the last year has gone.  It just flew by!  As evident from my last of posting last year.
But since I this is my last first birthday for any of my kids I went a little crazy with the decorations and the cake.
Here is the cake!!
Isn't is so cute!!  I had to have it ever since I saw a picture of it on Pinterest.  I found a neighbor who does her own baking company so hired her to make it for me.  I won't lie it was quite pricey.  On a regular occasion I would never pay that much for a cake but I justified it by this being the last 1st birthday.
since that worked all out I found decorations that matched!  Bonus!!  So essentially her whole party was themed by the cake.
It all turned out so cute!
She wasn't to excited about things.  After all, she just played with paper and stuff not to long ago at Christmas.  But I think she had fun.
She wouldn't eat her cake on her own.  Grandma and Grandpa Simmons took turns feeding her cake and ice cream.  That was all she was going to do.
My little bug.  I love you so much!

Pinterest #8 and #9

Pinterest #8 = Lazy cake cookies
These I had planned on trying for a while now but after I saw the size of Riley's birthday cake I panicked and didn't think I had enough to go around.  I also knew I didn't have enough time to make a whole cake.
Lazy Cake Cookies to the rescue!  And here was hoping they weren't terrible.
They were quick and easy to make!  Only took about 30 minutes max from start to serve.  That was a bonus for me.  I need to practice spreading the dough in the pan.  I couldn't quite get it to stay put so I could get it even, but it turned out that didn't really matter.
These were very good.  They are even better the next day!  That makes them very dangerous because we all  polished them off the very next day.  I have to admit that was about the whole batch too.
We made ours with mini chocolate chips.  I would love to try with M&M's and Receices Pieces would be heavenly.
Highly recommend.  Post is now located in "foods I will definitely make again" board.

Pinterest #9 = Canned Lettuce
So I tried this one once that I didn't post.  I was waiting to see how long it would really last and if we liked it.
Well, my first batch I mixed my lettuce with a bunch of salad greens thinking it would be a great way to have them all mixed together and yummy salads ready.  That turned out to only be good in theory.  Total FAIL!
The salad greens went bad the very next day and I spent a lot of time picking them out of the lettuce that was completely fine.  But the longer they stayed mixed the faster the lettuce also went bad.
Lesson learned.  Don't mix salad greens in with the lettuce.
So this is take 2.  Only lettuce this time.  I am anticipating that it will turn out fine.  I am not sure how long it will stay fresh for.  The post I got it from said 2 weeks in the fridge without turning brown.  I just finished them today so I will do a follow up in two weeks.

Getting Healthy...Week 4

Weight loss: NONE!  Yup and to top it all off I am back at square 1!  The weight I had lost the couple of weeks before is back!  I guess I make this my official starting over point.
Exercise: I made it only 3 times.  And that was like pulling teeth within itself. So I did the 2nd week workout for 2 weeks in a row and only really did it a total of 5 times.  WooHoo!
Calorie goals:  Yeah right.  I finally got to a point last week that the only thing I tracked was my weight and didn't worry about anything else.

Tom and I had a big discussion on how we feel about ourselves in this state.  Bottom line. We don't.  So together we decided to support each other and try to get what we were achieving last time back.  So I got a new video.  Julian Micheal's 30 day shred.
I like her videos and workouts but like I told Tom.  I have a hard time getting excited for something I really don't care to watch over and over again and feel like it is worth my time.  But I know her workouts work and they are only 30 minutes which, lets face it, that is all the time I have to do anything.
We talked about the food we want to eat and planned the next week of dinners.  So here we go again.
Here is hoping it lasts.  I hope I have the resolve to keep it up.  I would like to be 20 pounds lighter by the end of April.  2 1/2 months from now.
Wish me luck!
